1. What did Chhotu think when he looked at the pipe?

Ans. Chhotu thought that he could live in that pipe. This thought would perhaps have aroused in his mind as he came to Mumbai for the first time and at that time, he did not have a house to live in. 

2. How did Chhotu use the pipe?

Ans. Chhotu made that pipe his home


3. Into which parts did Chhotu divide the pipe and its surrounding area?

Ans. Chhotu divided the pipe and its surrounding areas into sleeping, cooking, bathing and living areas. 

4. In which part of this house will Chhotu like to spend most of his time?

Ans. Chhotu would like to spend most of his time outside the pipe for doing his daily chores like bathing, cooking and meeting his friends. 

5. Why do you think Chhotu invited Monu to live with him in the pipe?

Ans. Monu is new to Mumbai and had no place to live. So, Chhotu invited him to live with him.

Ans. There is a hall, kitchen Bedrooms and toilet in my house. 


9. How much time in a day do you spend in each part of your house?

Ans. About eight hours spend in bedroom and most of the time I spend in the hall. 


10. Is there any part of your house where one particular member of your family spends more time?

Ans.  Yes, it is hall where we spend more time.


11. Is there any part of your house where a particular family member never goes or goes for a short time?

Ans. Yes, it is kitchen where we spend little time only to have food.

Ans. We keep our house clean by:

i. Sweeping the floor and collecting the dust in the dustbins 

ii. Mopping the floor 

iii. Using phenyl and disinfectant for cleaning the floor and washrooms 

iv. Removing cobwebs periodically 

v. Using insect and mosquito repellant 

vi. Throwing out wastes only in the dustbin (recyclable and non-recyclable wastes should be thrown separately) 

vii. Getting the house white-washed periodically


14. Who all help to keep your house clean?

Ans. We all family members keep our house clean. 


15. Where do you throw the garbage of your house?

Ans. We throw garbage in the dustbins. We use two kinds of bins, one is for throwing the recyclable wastes, whereas other is for throwing the non-recyclable wastes.


16. Is the area around your house clean?

Ans. Yes.

16. Is there any special way in which you decorate your house? Ans. We decorate our house by mounting sceneries on wall and using colourful lights. There are many special ways in which we can decorate a house. We decorate our houses using flowers, wall paintings, flower pot, crystal show pieces, beautiful articles of wood, clay, etc.

On special occasions like birthdays, we decorate our houses with ribbons and balloons. On Diwali, we use fancy lights, candles, earthen diyas, rangolis, etc. to decorate our houses.

Ans. Paintings, crystal and wood show pieces, flower pots, colourful ribbons, balloons, flower garlands, etc. are some of the things with which a house can be decorated.
