Did all the farmers in Dhanu’s village have their own land?
During what time of the year did Dhanu’s family get work in the village? During what time did they not have work?
Do you know of any families like Dhanu’s, who have to leave their village for months in search of work?
Answer:
No, only big farmers had their own land in Dhanu’s village. Small farmers like Dhanu, worked on big farmer’s land.
Dhanu’s family managed to get work from May to October, i.e., for six months, which is the rainy season. For the next six months, after Dussehra, i.e. November to April, they did not have any work in the village.
