1.  Why was the Ramakrishna mission established?

Ans. . The Ramakrishna mission was established to run many schools and colleges in India to help the poor and to educate the young.

2. Why is quarrelling in the name of religion foolish?

Ans. All religions lead to the same goal and teach the same truth. In fact people worship the same God under different names hence quarrelling in the name of religion is foolish.

3. What kind of life did Ramakrishna live as a temple priest?

Ans. When Ramakrishna became the temple priest, he spent all his time in the service of 'Kali' the divine mother whom he worshipped out of religious duty. He lived a deeply religious life and spent days and nights in prayer. He led a very hard life and often went without food and water.

4. What did he do to understand Islam and Christianity?

Ans. To understand Islam he lived the life of pious Muslim. During this period he offered Namaz five times every day like a true Muslim. To understand Christianity he lived the disciplined life of a Christian and had a vision of Christ. He understood different religions with his personal experiences.

5. How did Narendra prove to himself that his master disliked money?

Ans. Narendra wanted to know what would happen if Shri Ramakrishna touched money. So one day when Ramakrishna was asleep, he touched him with a coin. Suddenly, Shri Ramakrishna's hand bent and his body appeared to be in great pain.

6. What was the early name of Swami Vivekananda?

Ans. The early name of Swami Vivekananda was Narendra.
