Answer: Chandra Shekhar was born on 23rd July, 1906 in village Bhabra in Jhabua district.


2. Where did he receive his early education?

Answer: He received his early education in Bhabra.


3. In 1920-21 which movement attracted Chandra Shekhar?

Answer: He was attracted by the non-cooperation movement of 1920-21 under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi.


 4. One of Chandra Shekhar’s statement provoked the magistrate. What was that statement ?

Answer : He gave his name as ‘Azad’, his father’s name as ‘Swatantra, and his residence as ‘Prison’. This provoked the magistrate.


5. Why was British police able to surround him?

Answer : On February 27, 1931 Chandra Shekar Azad met two of his comrades at Alfred Park in Allahabad. He was betrayed by an informer to British Police. So he was surrounded by British Police.


6. How did Chandra Shekhar prove his name Azad?

Answer : Once he was surrounded by police in a park. He didn’t surrender but shot himself. Thus he proved his name Azad by not being caught alive.
